We... no I, am thinking that we should start a collection of money ... there is nothing that I can think of that the people need to start their recovery that is not actually already in China, so cash might help. "Doctor's Without Borders"?
I have heard of ideas of adoption of these children who have lost parents, but that is a VERY complicated and slow, long process. Our news says more children were lost than their parents too.
So here is my initial thinking.
I investigate the setting up a tax deductible charity: "Marin Cares" and we raise money through our stores and newspapers. We have an umbrella Foundation here that will actually handle the money. I do not want to have that responsibility.
I want that money NOT to go to the Red Cross. But I want VERY little to pass through too many hands and I want it to go to those poor suffering souls.
I know of your skills and experience in business... and this is a complicated business plan.
The Foundation will want to have assurances that the money is not being used for drink in Shanghai or Guangzhou night clubs either.
